International Day of Acceptance 2016

Today is 20 January and I always celebrate it because it is the International Day of Acceptance, also known as IDOA. I have blogged about this for the past few years and think it’s a great cause. The day was thought up by Stevie from 3E Love’s Wheelchair Heart, a US organisation dedicated to spreading awareness and acceptance of people with disabilities everywhere. I support the cause and have various items of clothing (short-sleeved and longsleeved T-shirts) and accessories (badges, temporary tattoos a bag some bracelets and a necklace ) which bear the slogan “Embrace Educate Empower.” The initiative of the three Es came about as Stevie’s sister Annie wanted to try and bring more understanding and acceptance of people with disabilities. I feel one day of acceptance/ awareness is not enough but it is great it is now a global event.
